Non-Profit Leader - Philosopher - Educator
My work connects research and public service. I earned my Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Washington, where I teach. My teaching and research explore the public humanities, human reasoning, and artificial intelligence.
I’m a nonprofit leader with more than a decade of experience building programs, executing strategic initiatives, and managing teams. I’m also open to interim and fractional leadership, consulting, and project-based work with nonprofits, foundations, and educational institutions. Let’s work together.
Leading at scale
At Humanities Washington, I led a team delivering programs and grants across all 39 Washington counties. Our work reached more than 250,000 people through partnerships with libraries, schools, universities, and community organizations.
Developing nationally recognized programs
I launched more than twenty original initiatives, including Cabin Fever Questions, winner of the national Schwartz Prize for outstanding humanities programming, and the Humanities Challenge, featured by the American Philosophical Association.
Building a field
I founded and directed the Public Humanities Fellowship, bringing together funding, mentorship, and a nine-month learning program to help early-career humanists develop projects for underserved communities.
